When most people visit LA it is usually to act out their childhood fantasies and run around Disneyland for a day or two. Truth is, there are so many things to see and do that could keep you busy here for several days (aside from D’land). If you are limited on time but still want to squeeze as much fun as you can in, here’s my 4 day itinerary for a taster of LA LA land.
Day One
Spend the day chillin by the beach Cali-style. Malibu is pretty cool and a bit more removed from the city with the mountains pretty close. If you are looking to get amongst a super cool vibe head to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Beach. You may recognise the Santa Monica Pier from the Hannah Montana Movie π You can grab a bike or hire some roller skates and cruise along the walk between both beaches.
Day Two
Time to hit up Hollywood, but before you do…grab breakfast at IHop. Seriously the pancake syrups here are AMAZING, you can thank me later!
Walk up to the sign and check out the stars along the Walk of Fame. You could even do a bus tour that goes past famous celebrities and movie stars houses!
Spend the afternoon cruising around Beverly Hills and shopping on Rodeo Drive and Melrose Avenue. If you are lucky you might even run into someone famous!
In the evening grab a Burger for dinner at In N Out. Again, you’ll thank me later…you’re welcome! π
Day Three
STUDIO day! Check out either Warner Bros or Universal…or squeeze in both. The tour at Warner Bros is fabulous especially if you are a fan of Gilmore Girls, Friends and the Mentalist just to name a few! Universal have lots of thrilling rides for the adrenaline lovers and it is also home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
Day Four
If you are an outdoor enthusiast take a drive north along the Pacific Coast Highway (past Malibu) or get your cardio in on the trails around Runyon Canyon (not far from the Hollywood Sign).
If you are looking for a bit of culture with a little quirk thrown in spend a few hours getting lost in an imaginary world at The (super instagrammable) ‘Last Bookstore’.
You could even check out another studio (Paramount or Sony Pictures) or catch a movie (after all you are in ‘tinseltown’ AKA the home of motion pictures).
Other noteworthy mentions
- If you are a fan…get tickets to the taping of Ellen’s show (these are free but usually hard to get and need to be done well in advance).
- Catch a Baseball game at Dodger Stadium
